Rethinking the bicycle
Two out of three Germans rarely or never ride a bicycle. There will only be more livable cities if there are fewer cars on the roads. Therefore, the Hopper, a weather-protected e-bike, was developed as an alternative to the car: Dry from A to B, seat, steering wheel and operating concepts are very similar to those of a car.
A lot of function in a small space
Due to its own chassis and drive concept, it is no larger than a classic cargo bike and has a cycle path approval. And despite its compactness, drivers enjoy the highest level of comfort.
Ultra-compact for more space in the city
Advancing urbanization is increasing the use of space by parked cars. With a length of only about two meters, the Hopper is shorter than a car is wide. This means that hoppers can easily be parked transversely in parking spaces on the side of the road. The more people choose Hopper, the more space could be used for other purposes, e.g. for new places of encounter.
Self-sufficient for most of the year
The roof has an integrated solar panel (can be booked separately). With each hour in full sunlight, up to 5 km can be driven additionally. With this extension, you can drive even more carefree. This is how urban mobility becomes sustainable.

Lockable trunk
The trunk can hold a case of beer and two shopping bags, for example. Everything you normally transport in the city fits in it. It is also lockable and ergonomically easy to load.
Removable battery
The battery, which has a range of up to 65 km, has been used in tough and often rough conditions by the German Post Office for years. The robust LFP technology makes the battery not only particularly safe, but also much more durable than with the usual NMC technology. The battery is easy to remove from the hopper and can be charged at any household socket.
Service accessibility for wearing parts
The 20-inch tires and bicycle brakes that are common on bicycles can be easily reached by removing the cover. Any bicycle dealer has spare parts. The same applies to the rear tire. The standard 10-inch Vespa tire can also be replaced yourself if necessary using the two-part steel rim. The pedal-by-wire drive completely eliminates the drive chain, a typical wear part.
Handbrake
The handbrake is installed below the dashboard and can be operated like a car. This allows the hopper to be quickly locked and secured from rolling away.
Central control in the steering wheel
The control center is located directly in the steering wheel, always within reach of your thumbs. The suspension patented by Hopper also enables the unerring operation of buttons when steering, as the control element is installed in the vehicle and therefore does not rotate with you.
High beam in very low light conditions
The high beam also provides the best illumination when driving on dirt roads and over land. This increases safety and visibility; the illumination increases to a peak 550 lumens (160 lux).
Lighting Made in Germany
The front headlights and the tail light are modern LED lights from Supernova, specialist in professional bicycle lighting. Due to the high illumination and visibility, you are safe on the road even at night. The low beam offers an illumination of 2x 235 lumens (100 lux).
Unobstructed view thanks to windscreen heating and passive ventilation
So that you have a clear view even in the cold seasons despite fogging and frost, the Hopper has a windshield heater. In addition, the passive rear window ventilation protects the windscreen from fogging up while driving.
USB charging port
In the right pocket of the dashboard, there are two USB charging ports with up to 2.1 A charging power, so you can charge your smartphone or connect other USB gadgets.
Dashboard with storage options
The two pockets on the right and left are storage options for your smartphone or wallet. The new dashboard also offers many flat places to attach a mobile phone holder.

When will the side doors arrive?
We are working on a side panel that can be ordered as an option. We plan to deliver it when series production starts.
When is the delivery?

We are working on it . For integration, the entire system must be precisely coordinated to ensure the longevity of the individual components.
Allowed to bring children and people?
Due to the amendment to the German Road Traffic Act , children and people are generally allowed to be transported in the Hopper. The driver must be at least 16 years old, but there is no longer an age limit for passengers. There is also no need for a permit, such as a passenger transport license, to transport children in the Hopper.
Looking for a parking space?
You can park your Hopper on the sidewalk just like a bicycle . However, you must be particularly careful not to obstruct anyone. Since the amendment to the road traffic regulations came into force, you can now also park the Hopper on the side of the road . In addition, a traffic sign has been introduced specifically for cargo bikes such as the Hopper. Cargo bikes that are used to transport movable goods and people can be parked under this sign.
Do I have to ride on the bike path?
No, not necessarily. There is an exception for cargo bikes like the Hopper . If the Hopper is too wide for a mandatory cycle path and obstructs other road users, it can move onto the road . The police are required by an administrative regulation not to punish this as an administrative offence.
Are there any height restrictions?
Yes, we recommend a height between 1.65m and 1.98m.

Do I need a driving license?
No, the Hopper is a bicycle and therefore you do not need a driving license or permit.
By the way: You do not have to pay taxes or insurance for the Hopper either!
How is the price determined?
Hopper produces almost exclusively with components from Germany and the EU. The majority of suppliers are medium-sized German companies.
We produce the Hopper ourselves in Hamburg using a manufacturing method, which means we hardly benefit from tiered pricing. Through all of this, we ensure high quality and help to secure jobs in Germany.
